This saying has been around a long time. I remember having my picture taken next to it with a sales rep when we visited the Dell campus back in 2001.
In the end, no matter where it comes from, it's still one of the gospels.

The saying works better if you think broadly. When drilling oil, a rough measure of "I see oil" could be enough.
