Noticing

Following up on WH Auden, here's R D Laing:

"The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice there is little we can do to change until we notice that how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds."

Great quote. And once we learn how to notice, and be present, I also like this one from Schopenhauer: "Thus the task is not so much to see what no-one yet has seen, but to think what nobody yet has thought about that which everybody sees."
