Jaffa Groups

I'm planning some new groups. They'll be for people who'd like a different kind of coaching in these challenging times.

I’m Johnnie Moore, and I help people work better together

I’m working on a new idea for coaching groups. I’m calling them – for now –  Jaffa Groups. Inspired by Jaffa Cakes, I want them to be something you really look forward to. Too easily coaching can feel predictable, I want to offer something more provocative and exciting.

Good groups share ideas and advice. Great groups create spaces where each member can grow as an individual and perform more fluently with others.

Jaffa Groups will be a space to work on personal challenges in a supportive atmosphere. These are tough times, we could all use more help.

We’ll cultivate the little acts of bravery that help us surprise ourselves. There’ll be an emphasis on experimenting with new ways of behaving. We will act our way into new ways of thinking, rather than the other way round.

We’ll have the spirit of good theatrical rehearsals which are about exploring possibilities rather than sticking to the script. This spirit allows us to experience our shared challenges in a more energetic and imaginative way.

Feedback will be honest, but also imaginative and kind. It won’t be simply adding our own ending to someone else’s unfolding life story.

We’ll not be rushing, reflecting together is part of how we support each other.

The work should be nourishing and a bit unexpected. It should help you find your own path through the marshes and flowerbeds of your professional life.

It’s professional development, Jim, but not as you know it.

Let me know if you’re interested and we can fix a time to talk.

Leading from the clown

I shot this in a single eight-minute take, which is in the spirit of an experience of Ralf Wetzel’s workshop, Leading from the Clown. Clown training is probably the deepest and most challenging work I’ve done. Enjoy.

Improv to Performance

This is the best improv course I’ve ever done. You go for a series of evening sessions where you play with your fellow participants and then on the last evening
