Another thing caught my eye in Viv’s post about facilitation basics – the advice to get used to the blank looks.

Next time we’re doing some facilitation training we should definitely do some play with this. The thing about blank looks is they are a massive invitation to project your own doubts and fears onto others and end up beating yourself up and blaming other people. Staying calm and curious in the face of blank expressions can be really useful. And I get lots of chances to practice doing this work.
